Do I need to declare my overseas income when I immigrate to the UK?
According to the British tax law, anyone's personal income in Britain is generally subject to Ghana income tax. These incomes include (but are not limited to):
salary
trust fund income
dividend
most savings interest
self-employment profit (including profit from providing services through websites or software)
most pensions, including state pensions, Company and individual pensions and retirement annuities
some national and social welfare
rental income (unless you live with a tenant and the annual rent is less than 7,5 pounds) and other
following types (not limited to) are not required to pay personal income tax:
savings interest under savings allowance
income from tax-free accounts, such as individual savings account (ISAS) and national savings certificate

part of the national welfare
bonds or national lottery tickets
is less than 7,5 pounds (but must live with tenants).
