Apart from immigration, what other ways can I obtain permanent residency in Australia?

Three ways: Australian employer-sponsored immigrant visa, Australian skilled immigrant visa and Australian spouse immigration.

One: Australian employers sponsor immigrant visas.

There are three types of immigrant visas sponsored by Australian employers, namely 457 visa, 186 visa and 187 visa. Among them, the immigration conditions of Australia 186 and 187 visas are basically the same, and there is no need to score, but the application conditions can be met. The biggest difference is the different application fields. Holders of the 186 visa can work in first-tier cities such as Sydney and Melbourne, while the 187 visa requires working and living in remote areas of Australia for a certain period of time. Australia's 457 visa requires two years of work to apply for a permanent residence visa of 186 or 187.

Australian cities are divided as follows:

(1) First-tier cities in Australia, including Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Newcastle and Wollongong;

(2) Remote areas in Australia, including all cities except six first-tier cities (above).

Generally speaking, Australian employer-sponsored immigrants are more suitable for ordinary immigrants. Skilled immigrants in Australia are very suitable for international students who have studied in Australia for more than two years, are on the list of skilled immigrants, or have studied relevant immigration courses. Among them, top talents with high academic qualifications and high skills (such as doctors in short supply) can easily get the invitation to immigrate to Australia. Therefore, it is suggested that applicants who can't meet the requirements of skilled immigration in Australia temporarily can also get extra points for immigration through studying in Australia.

Third, Australian spouse immigration.

Australian spouse immigration refers to the status of spouse, potential spouse (fiancee or fiance) or dependency relationship between Australian citizens and green card holders. Australian spouse immigration application conditions are as follows:

(1) The applicant must have a marriage relationship or cohabitation relationship with the sponsor ("cohabitation relationship" must have been maintained for at least 12 months before submitting the application);

(2) If applying as a potential spouse, the applicant must be engaged to the guarantor and have a marriage plan;

(3) To apply for a dependency relationship, the applicant must be at least 18 years old and have a dependency relationship with the guarantor (including same-sex couples, but not limited to this).
