Although "Cantonese" is connected with each other and widely spread, Guangxi and Guangdong, both Cantonese-speaking areas, give people different impressions.

Cantonese in Guangdong has an obvious flavor of "China Cantonese", which corresponds to Chinese characters one by one, while "Zhuang language" in Guangxi has no corresponding relationship with "Zhuang language", so we can only borrow Chinese characters.

In Vietnam, "Beijing and Guangdong" is a completely different scene: the characters are confused, there are borrowed Chinese characters, there are "Nan characters" created by Vietnamese, there are even French pinyin made by French, and there are some Greek characters.

The infiltration of culture affects thinking and behavior. The influence of Chinese culture in eastern Guangdong makes us feel like our hometown. All kinds of customs and habits are familiar or met, except for the different local accents, and there is no discomfort.

Therefore, Cantonese people are not exclusive to mainlanders.

However, in the early days of reform and opening up, the phenomenon of xenophobia in Guangdong was still quite serious.

Being close to Hong Kong, it is convenient to get a lot of information from overseas. The income of Guangdong people has increased greatly in a relatively short period of time, making them feel that their status is higher than that of the mainland. Mainlanders come to Guangdong to work for gold and seek advantages.

At that time, Guangdong seemed to be the representative of Chinese mainland's advanced culture and productivity, and Cantonese songs were popular all over the country. Anyone who goes to karaoke can't get by without learning to sing a few Cantonese songs.

Exclusion is often a contempt of advanced culture for cultural backwardness, such as American immigration policy, British restrictions on Asians, and Japan's presence in mainland China.

At that time, the xenophobia in Guangdong was a kind of psychological superiority inspired by the short-term improvement of material civilization, which may be the biggest xenophobia in Guangdong history.

Sometimes you get lost in the street and ask an old lady. She clearly understands Mandarin, but she responds to your Cantonese and points in the opposite direction.

Now, this situation is much better.

With the establishment of Shenzhen Special Economic Zone, various local languages in China have been artificially brought together, forming different cultural communities in a short time. Cantonese has no obvious advantage here. In order to facilitate the communication between different communities, Putonghua has become a common language, forming a unique regional cultural phenomenon in China, or it can be called "special zone culture".

However, Zhanjiang is different from Shenzhen. Due to the special geographical environment and specific urban functions, Zhanjiang, as a military port in the south of China, cannot stand on the cusp of China's reform and opening up. So of course, they didn't have a thrilling experience, and they couldn't get the sense of superiority brought by Shenzhen's material status in a short time. They still maintain the simplicity and naturalness of this place to a great extent.

If Shenzhen is not excluded because of relative material progress and cultural integration, Zhanjiang is not excluded because of relative material backwardness and cultural closure.

As far as the whole Guangdong theory is concerned, due to the deep-rooted influence of the Central Plains culture, their exclusion is only aimed at those underdeveloped areas and people with low social status in the mainland, just as Shanghainese are used to treating foreigners as "Shantou people", while Shanghai's predecessor is a small fishing village where Shantou people live, and Shanghai's "city people" are the former "Shantou people".

Tourists play with clouds: Guangdong may be divorced from Central Plains politics (* * *), but it is impossible to be divorced from Central Plains culture (Chinese culture).

In fact, the invasion of foreign culture has not done much harm to the culture of eastern Guangdong, including local folk customs and even lifestyles such as diet and clothing habits. On the contrary, the entry of foreign culture has given local people more material civilization and convenience in life, and there is no reason for people in eastern Guangdong to struggle with foreign culture in order to survive.

In this way, gentleness, informality, leisure, virtue, tolerance and laziness are the characteristics of most Cantonese people, and so are Zhanjiang people, which cultivate their nature of being more hospitable and kind to people.

Once, we went to Huguangyan by car, and there were many villagers on the road, because Huguangyan was on the side and the road had to pass through several villages.

Soon, I seemed to feel a pair of eyes staring at me behind me, so I subconsciously touched the camera hanging in front of * * * and the wallet behind * * *.

There is a West Lake in Zhanjiang. In Leizhou, Zhanjiang people have a soft spot for their own West Lake. Leizhou West Lake is one of the 36 West Lakes in China.

Like sisters, the West Lake in Leizhou and the West Lake in Hangzhou have their own extraordinary experiences. Both of them traveled for Dongpo and other sages and were rewritten by later generations.

Leizhou West Lake also has the elements of Hangzhou West Lake, such as Su Causeway, Broken Bridge, Three Ponds Reflecting the Moon, Singing in the Willow Waves, and watching fish in the Flower Harbor, but it's a bit more miserable.

"Building Leizhou West Lake": "The West Lake was called Luohu in ancient times.

In the fourth year of Shaoxing in Song Dynasty (1097), Su Shi and Su Zhe were demoted to thunder and swam around the lake, so they changed Luohu to West Lake to show their respect.

The "Stone Dog Exhibition Hall" in the park houses hundreds of stone dogs with different shapes, which is the representative of Zhanjiang's unique "Stone Dog Culture".

In the past, the baby names given to children by Leizhou people were "paparazzi", "dog treasure" and "dog egg", all of which were related to the stone dog culture.

For thousands of years, Leizhou stone dog has been a folk belief of Leizhou people. The local people worship the dog statue as a patron saint and mascot, praying for good weather and peace in the four seasons, and wishing their children a safe growth.

Leizhou Peninsula's superior ecological environment makes Leizhou live a leisurely and comfortable life. They don't want to fight, let alone fight unless absolutely necessary.

There is a "Leizhou Retired Workers Management Committee" at the entrance of Sanyuan Park. Retired workers who have nothing to do gather under a big banyan tree here to listen to the "Leizhou accent". Singing like Sin Nui Hung, the lyrics can now be made up, mostly stories of parents or stories of ancient characters.
