Brief introduction of Liberia's national history

Brief history:/kloc-In the second half of the 5th century, the Portuguese came here to sell slaves, and then the Dutch, British, French, German and other colonists invaded one after another. 182 1 year, the "American Colonial Association" established an American black immigrant area in Monrovia today. 1824 was named Liberia (Latin meaning "freedom"). The Federation of Liberia was founded in 1838. Ruled by the governor of the United States. 1847 declared independence on July 26th, and Liberia was established. Another African-American settlement established the Republic of Maryland in1February 4, 854, and merged into Liberia in 1857. From independence to 1980, successive governments in Liberia were dominated by descendants of African-American immigrants. 1April, 1980 12, 17 Soldiers headed by Chief Sergeant Samuel Kanyon Doe staged a coup and established a military government headed by Doe, thus ending the rule of descendants of African immigrants for more than 100 years. At the end of 1989, the National Patriotic Front led by Taylor and the Independent Patriotic Front led by Johnson began a long-term civil war with the Doe government forces. 1On September 9, 990, President Doe was killed by rebels. On August 3rd1990 and 3rd1,peacekeeping forces from five West African countries sent by the Economic Community of West African States entered Liberia to stop the civil war. 500,000 people (1/4 of the national population) fled to neighboring countries to escape the war.
