It borders Guangdong Province to the east, Beibu Gulf to the south and Hainan Province across the sea, Yunnan Province to the west, Hunan Province to the northeast, Guizhou Province to the northwest, and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the southwest.

The administrative area has a land area of ??237,600 square kilometers, and the Beibu Gulf waters under its jurisdiction cover an area of ??approximately 40,000 square kilometers.

Guangxi is located at low latitudes, with the Tropic of Cancer running through the central part, facing the tropical ocean to the south, the Nanling Mountains to the north, and the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau to the west. It belongs to a subtropical monsoon climate zone. The climate is warm, with abundant rainfall and sufficient sunshine. In summer, the sunshine hours are long, the temperature is high, and there is a lot of precipitation. In winter, the sunshine hours are short and the weather is dry and warm.

Guangxi is located on the southeastern edge of the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, the second step in China's terrain, to the west of the hills of Guangxi and Guangxi, and to the south of the Beibu Gulf. It is high in the northwest and low in the southeast, tilting from northwest to southeast. It has continuous mountains, huge mountains, and alternating ridges and valleys. It is mostly surrounded by mountains and plateaus. There are many hilly and flat lands in the central and southern parts. It is basin-shaped and is known as the "Guangxi Basin".

Guangxi’s daily diet is mainly light, but there are some changes from the north to the south. In Yulin, Wuzhou, Hezhou, Nanning, Beihai, Qinzhou, etc. in the southeast of Guangxi, the food is mainly light. In Liuzhou and Guilin in the north, the diet is mainly light. Some areas have the habit of eating spicy food.

According to the records of traveler Xu Xiake, due to the geographical environment, Guangxi’s early diet included eating rice and vegetables, pickling vegetables, drinking tea, and drinking wine.
