Essays on Oasis Prose Embedded on the Bank of the Yellow River

I have never been to the prairie of Hulunbeier, nor have I personally experienced the vastness and height of the sky. I just blindly believe that as long as there are green grass, grazing cattle and sheep, nomadic yurts and the artistic conception of "have it both ways", it is grassland, grassland in my heart and Hulunbeier in my heart.

But when I walked into Yuanqu, the ancient city national wetland park and the oasis on the bank of the Yellow River, I decided that this was the grassland I was looking for, and this was the grassland in my heart.

At first glance, you can see a large piece of turquoise grass felt. Although there are no small yurts, the water is vast, and the sailboats are bit by bit. Although there are no flocks of cattle and sheep eating grass, there are flocks of black birds, swans and all kinds of waterfowl. Fish shallow birds fight. The water bank is covered with green grass, which is grounded and green. If you look closely, you can see it.

This is a mysterious grassland, full of mystery. It sank at the bottom of the water for half a year and was exposed on the ground for half a year.

At the end of last century, Xiaolangdi Water Control Project on the Yellow River was built to store water. The elevation of the dam is 275 meters, and the backwater flows to the upstream 130 kilometers, forming a water area of 278 square kilometers. Although the dam is located in Jiyuan, Henan Province, 60% of the water area is in Yuanqu County, and the high gorge flows out of Pinghu, making Yuanqu the largest inland water area in North China. When I looked up, I could only see the flood. However, with the change of seasons, the reservoir area should alternately discharge sand, release water and store water to intercept floods. By March and April every year, the water level will drop from more than 270 meters at the time of river closure to an altitude of 230 meters, and the water level will rise and fall by more than 40 meters, forming a large-scale fluctuation area of 10 million mu.

The floating zone of the ancient city, also known as the "Little Jiangnan" of Yuanqu, was once the richest area in Yuanqu. The land is fertile, the grassland is beautiful and the flowers and fruits are fragrant. All kinds of grass seeds have already sneaked into the soil, soaked in water for half a year, and exposed to the sun. Within ten and a half months, they were full of dense grass, hairy and dark, hanging all over the banks of the Hetao like felt.

This is a charming oasis. It is intoxicating green, and its heart is trembling. Without that meadow, you can wash it in the water like the ancient city wetland park. After washing for half a year, there are no sundries and no extra leaves. It is clean, fresh and exquisite. The crystal dew often hangs on the branches and leaves, dripping.

Under the scorching sun, when you walk barefoot on thousands or even tens of thousands of acres of natural lawns, the breeze blows, the water is dense, and there are bursts of coolness under your feet, just like stepping on the beach of the Gold Coast, which is soft and delicate, and it is a kind of full-hearted relaxation and enjoyment.

This is a mysterious oasis. Under the green grass, tens of millions of years of human history secrets are buried. Under the submerged earth bridge in Zhaiping village, the earliest "dawn" of mankind rises here. The discovery of "century apes" completely overthrew the assertion that "human beings originated in Africa" and advanced the appearance of apes by100000 years. On the banks of the Yellow River, this is the earliest origin of human beings, the origin of Chinese civilization and the starting point of ancient China. With the flowing of the surging Yellow River, the customs and habits here, the dialects here, and the farming civilization here, they crossed mountains and mountains and merged into the Central Plains civilization at the pace of conquest in different dynasties.

Kiss or not, a yellow river heart is connected.

Near or not, a mountain is connected with roots.

This is the center of the Golden Triangle of the Yellow River in Shanxi, Shaanxi and Henan, the entrance of the Yellow River where the Boqing River meets the Brazil River, and the largest wetland park on the banks of the Jiuqu Yellow River. The ecosystem is well developed, and the biodiversity is in harmony with ancient civilization and modern landscape. It is a picturesque, quiet and dark green wetland with mountains, rivers and trees, especially those in cutting areas. Pieces of green meadows, staggered inlets, lush meadows and waterfowl skimming the lake have sprouted, deep and distant, showing the vitality of all things, not only decorating the countryside, but also beautifying the earth, giving birth to the vitality of the water town.

One side's soil and water support one side's people, which is fertile ground for one side's affection. This water, this soil, this green grass beach is a big stage for immigrants in the reservoir area. The local film "Women in Reservoir Area" written, directed and performed by Yunling villagers is that the villagers are interpreting this land, this water and this grassland with their true feelings on this clear shore and this mysterious oasis.

This is an oasis full of vitality, the largest wetland along the Yellow River and the thriving hometown of generators. When we take a Mazar, sit quietly on the edge of this grassland, face the vast reservoir area, yank the fishing rod, catch a few real Yellow River carp, pick a handful of natural wild vegetables, add a gourd ladle of real Yellow River water, or burn or roast, or stir-fry or stew, that is true.

This is an oasis with stories and delicious food, and it is also a grassland that makes us reluctant to leave. May we, like grass, always be young and beautiful and always be embedded on the banks of the Yellow River.
