FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Why does the whole process take so long? The Swiss Ministry of Foreign Affairs is the only institution that can issue student approval documents. Every document needs to be reviewed in Switzerland. Since most applications are submitted in the peak season, the backlog will cause an extension of time.

Is there any agency that can guarantee students to get visas? Can't! The approval is issued by the Swiss Ministry of Foreign Affairs according to the specific circumstances of each application material. What is the cost of the whole process? The charge is 55 Swiss francs. Swiss embassies/consulates charge this fee at the same time when accepting applications, and some applications also charge postage and telecommunications fees. The visa application form is provided free of charge.

Can I work in Switzerland during or after my study? Can't! Working in Switzerland requires a work permit. It is impossible to get such a work permit in a language school.

If you take 2-4 years of hotel management courses, students can get up to 6 months of internship training in hotels or restaurants every year. This is part of their study and does not constitute a job opportunity.

What kind of documents will you get in Switzerland? Local foreign firms generally issue multiple entry and residence permits and are not allowed to work. The management office of the school will help with the relevant procedures.
