The origin of the name of Jinyuan Bridge in Beijing

Beijing Jinyuan Bridge is named after Jinyuan Village next to it. Beijing Jinyuan Bridge is located on the West Fifth Ring Road, intersecting with Fushi Road, adjacent to Wujing Bridge to the north and Gongcun Bridge to the south; the name of the bridge comes from Jinyuanzhuang here. Legend has it that the residents here are all immigrants from Shanxi. It was first named "Lao Xier's Zhuangzi" and later the village was named after the abbreviation of Shanxi. The names of the places "Huangzhuang" and "Gongzhuang" in Beijing's history were mostly the private farmland of the royal family; while Jinyuanzhuang used to have "Gongzhuang" land, which was named "Forbidden Garden". Forbidden Garden has the same vowels as Jin, so the name of Jin Yuanzhuang Village may have been miswritten from this.

Jinyuan Bridge is of great significance in transportation in western Beijing, making it convenient for citizens in Mentougou District and western Shijingshan District to directly go to Haidian and Fangshan.
