Central Street

Central Street was founded in 1898, originally called "China Street". In 1925, it was renamed as the "Central Street" that has been followed to this day, and later developed into the most prosperous commercial street in Harbin. The main street starts from Songhua River Flood Control Memorial Tower in the north and ends at Jingwei Street in the south, with a total length of 1,45 meters and a width of 21.34 meters, of which Fangshi Road in the vehicle store is 1.8 meters wide.

the central street, known as "the first street in Harbin", can best reflect the rich connotation of "Little Paris". Central Street is an old street, a famous street, a protected street, a landmark street, a pedestrian street, an architectural art street, a bustling commercial street, a tourist street and a public cultural street in Harbin. It was also the most famous immigrant street in the Far East in that year (193s), with the most prosperous commercial street, financial street and cultural street. There are many foreign shops, hotels, dance halls, cinemas, restaurants and bars on both sides of the street. The buildings of the main street, with raised domes and high windows, are elegant and classical, or tall and beautiful. There are common Renaissance buildings that originated in the 15th and 6th centuries, Baroque and eclecticism in the early 17th century, and Art Nouveau buildings in the late 19th century and early 2th century. There are 71 European-style and imitation European-style buildings in the whole street, and 13 European-style city-level protected buildings such as Renaissance, Baroque, eclecticism and modern styles are gathered. These buildings embody the essence of western architectural art, and the whole central street is an architectural art corridor. Nowadays, the European-style restoration of the large-scale model-the icing on the cake for "Little Paris"-has been successfully completed, which is the largest and longest pedestrian street in Asia at present. Four leisure areas with different styles, such as Xiliudao Street, Xiqiadao Street, Central Mall and the front of the residential building of the vehicle factory, constitute a new urban landscape integrating leisure, entertainment, tourism and shopping in the central street, making the characteristics of "Little Paris" more prominent.
