Where does pomegranate come from?

Pomegranate is produced in Lintong and Xianyang, Shaanxi; Anhui Huaiyuan; Zaozhuang, Yicheng and Tai 'an, Shandong; Xinjiang Hotan, Kashgar, Aksu, Zhou Ke; Anhui Suixi, Bengbu, Huainan, etc.

Lintong 1 Xianyang, Shaanxi.

The main representative pomegranate varieties in Lintong and Xianyang areas of Shaanxi Province are: Tian Hongdan, Pink Pomegranate, Soft Seed Pomegranate, White Sweet Pomegranate, Red Pomegranate, Pure Sweet Pomegranate, Red Sweet Pomegranate, Green Jade Egg and so on. Lintong pomegranate has been planted for more than 2000 years, mainly distributed in Lishan hilly area with an altitude of 400- 1000 meters. The local pomegranate planting area is more than 80,000 mu, and the annual output of high-quality pomegranate is more than 80,000 tons.

2. Anhui Huaiyuan.

The main representative varieties of pomegranate in Huaiyuan, Anhui Province are: jade seed pomegranate, agate seed pomegranate and coarse green pomegranate. Huaiyuan County is one of the four major pomegranate producing areas in China. Pomegranate is famous at home and abroad for its high yield, large grain, smooth as pearls, sweet juice and thin skin. Among them, Jingshan Town of Huaiyuan County, with Jingshan as its geographical symbol, is the central town of Huaiyuan County, adjacent to Yuhui District of Bengbu City, and is a well-known "pomegranate industry" town.

3. Zaozhuang, Yicheng, Tai 'an, Shandong.

The main pomegranate varieties in Zaozhuang, Yicheng, Tai 'an and other places in Shandong Province are: Big Green Peel, Soft Seed Pomegranate, Green Peel Xiehuatian, Damaya, Red Peel Sweet, White Pomegranate and Coarse Hemp Peel. Among them, Yicheng District of Zaozhuang City is a famous "Pomegranate Town of China". Pomegranate Garden is 22.5 kilometers long from east to west and 3 kilometers wide from north to south, with a contiguous planting area of about 654.38+ 10,000 mu.

4. Hotan, Kashgar, Aksu and Zhou Ke in Xinjiang.

The main representative varieties of pomegranate in Xinjiang are: Yecheng pomegranate, Piaman pomegranate, Kashi sweet pomegranate, big seed sweet pomegranate and so on. The pomegranate planting area in Xinjiang is about 300,000 mu, mainly distributed in Kashgar, Shufu, Shule and Yecheng counties in Kashgar region, and Pishan and Qira counties in Hotan region.

Among them, Pialesma Township in Pishan County, Bosreke Township in Yecheng County and Boskeranmu Township in Shufu County are famous for their longest history, highest output and best quality. And "Piaman" pomegranate, Yecheng pomegranate, Kashi big seed sweet pomegranate and other varieties are deeply loved by everyone.

5. Suixi, Bengbu and Huainan in Anhui.

The main representative varieties of Anhui pomegranate are: stupid pomegranate, Bai Zi sugar pomegranate, jade seed, agate seed, big stupid seed, coarse green husk and so on. In addition, Huaiyuan pomegranate is a specialty of Huaiyuan County, Anhui Province, and also a national geographical indication product. Pomegranate in this producing area is as white as crystal, the fruit is as big as a bowl, the skin is yellow and red, the grain is clearer than corn and as clear as pearls.
