In other words, employees are not allowed to ask about their past history, even if they have just been released from prison. So you can't ask the employee's previous name. He (she) changed his name, so you have no right to ask.
This is the anti-discrimination law of the Canadian Human Rights Commission. Working here, you should be calm.
First job
