History of Wanzhou Senior Middle School in Chongqing

Chongqing Wanzhou Senior High School was founded on 1959. According to the increasing population in Shahe area, the administrative center of Wanxian County, and the people's growing demand for culture and education, Wanxian County Party Committee and government decided to set up a complete middle school in the county. Autumn has arrived, and preparations have begun.

1In the autumn of 962, Shahe Middle School in Wanxian County, Sichuan Province was formally established, with 23 junior and senior high school students. At the end of the same year, the comprehensive teaching building was basically completed. After its establishment, the school is located in Shang Ping Village, Shahe.

1976, there were more than 60 faculty members, 19 classes, and about 1000 students.

1April, 980, with the approval of the regional administrative office, Wanxian Shahe Middle School was renamed as "Wanxian Middle School in Sichuan Province".

1April, 1982, the Provincial Department of Education officially issued a document, approving Wanxian Middle School as the first batch of key middle schools in Sichuan Province.

From 65438 to 0994, when the Three Gorges Project was built, the Ministry of Water Resources conducted a field investigation on the original site of Wanzhong, and came to the conclusion that "for the sake of safety, it is appropriate to move elsewhere". In June of the same year, Wanxian municipal government decided to move Wanzhong to Baianba, Wuqiao, as a "priority resettlement unit for immigrants". The construction of the new campus began at 1997.

1July 1998, Wanxian Middle School in Sichuan Province was renamed Wanzhou Middle School in Chongqing.

In April of 20001year, Wanzhong was recognized as the first batch of "Chongqing Key Middle Schools" by Chongqing Municipal Government.

On May/May/June 2000 16, Wanzhou Middle School moved to Wuqiao New School as a whole, completing the first relocation of key middle schools in Chongqing.

In April 2002, Chongqing Wanzhou Middle School was renamed as "Chongqing Wanzhou Senior Middle School".

In 2007, the school formed a famous school alliance with seven middle schools including Yongchuan Middle School, Fuling No.5 Middle School, Liangping Middle School, Kaixian Middle School, Fengdu Middle School and Tongnan Middle School to jointly carry out education and teaching research.

In 2009, the school celebrated its 50th anniversary.
