What is your nationality after you get married to America?

Marrying a foreigner does not mean changing nationality.

And it's not that easy to change.

First, you must apply for temporary residency in the United States.

Then applying for permanent residency five years later is what we often call a green card (or China nationality)

After that, you can apply for naturalization and become an American citizen. Most applications are successful, but they may not be successful. They need to sign off.

However, China citizenship will be revoked. You don't have to apply for this.

Many China people live or work in Europe and America with the right of permanent residence. This is just a green card.

Few people are naturalized abroad now.

I won't join another country.

You can go there at any time. Because you have permanent residency in other countries.

A green card is a permanent residence permit issued by the issuing country to foreigners.

If the issuing country is the United States, then we are foreigners in the issuing country.
