What will the future world look like?

Everything has a future. Thinking and creating about the future has brought extraordinary significance to our life. There is a special knowledge called futurology.

Some people think about the future like this: what will happen in the future? No one has an accurate answer, even the most authoritative scientist now. But from the documentary Future Earth, we can see that the future earth will become nothing, that is, it will return to where it came from, and the earth will become dust in the big universe. Humans should always pay attention to the future, and our planet will eventually decline. Even if we can't wait that long, human beings are always faced with sudden and dangerous threats such as asteroids and large-scale epidemics. Therefore, countries with relatively advanced science and technology, such as the United States, China, and Russian, are striving to develop outer space for our future (of course, a large part is for military and current interests). What we have to do now is not to think about what will happen in the future. What we must do is to protect our environment, so that our future generations will not worry about their survival. After all, it won't take decades to immigrate to other planets. I think that's the point.

At the beginning of futurology, its main founders were sociologists. For example, O.K.Flechtheim, a pioneer of futurology in Germany, was a sociology professor at the Free University of Berlin in the 1940s. Fred Pollack, the founder of Dutch futurology, is a sociology professor at erasmus University in Rotterdam. Fanel, the founder of French futurology, studied law at first, and later engaged in the research of economic sociology, teaching economic sociology in famous universities such as Oxford, Cambridge and Harvard. Mchale is one of the pioneers of futurology in the United States. He received a doctorate in sociology and later served as the director of comprehensive research in the School of Social Studies of the University of Houston.

The fact that so many sociologists look to the future is an important sign in itself. In Pollack's words:

Traditional sociology only pays attention to the modern society that grew up from the past. But from now on, human beings live in the future world instead of the modern society. Therefore, we are more concerned about the future. It should be pointed out that futurology is not the exclusive field of sociology from the beginning. Since 1950s, a large number of experts who have made great achievements in natural science have been among the futurists. For example, Wiener is recognized as the founder of cybernetics, helmer, one of the founders of the famous Hudson Institute in the United States, is a mathematician, and McLuhan, who put forward the concept of global village, is also a telecom engineer. As for many futuristic international organizations, including the Club of Rome, most of their members are scientists and technicians. With the intervention of a large number of scientific and technological experts, futurology, especially future prediction, has become more and more rigorous in scientific expression.

Of course, futurists like naisbitt and toffler are mainly journalists who become famous by writing best-selling books, but it is these people who make the public in the contemporary world truly feel the influence of the future-the future will become the master of contemporary human consciousness. We all remember that in the 1970s, M. Meadows, a member of the Club of Rome, shocked the world with his book The Limits to Growth. Although many scholars today think that this book is too pessimistic and some conclusions are sensational, it does make the public feel that our planet is faltering under the pressure of population, energy, environment and other issues, and our world is approaching a critical point.

Bill Gates, Negroponte and other giants in the field of contemporary information technology are also classified as first-class futurists. They not only develop products like traditional science and technology experts, but also run enterprises like traditional management experts. They also began to bombard contemporary society and hypnotize contemporary readers with the slogan "Internet = Future Society" like best-selling authors or skilled advertisers. They are like a group of tourists from the future to the public, and those who are going to immigrate to the future can't wait to ask them about the future.

At present, futurology is very active abroad, especially in the west. Many short-term and long-term predictions and studies have been made on major world issues such as population, resources and environment, and so-called pessimists and optimists have emerged.

In combination with the new problems and trends in the construction of the four modernizations, China Future Research Association has carried out a number of forecasting studies and achieved initial results in practice.

The younger generation is the future master of the motherland, shouldering the heavy responsibility of rejuvenating China, and should have a future vision in handling affairs and looking at problems. Only by learning some knowledge of futurology and mastering some techniques and methods of scientific prediction can we be far-sighted. In order to build our modern socialist motherland and realize the bright future of mankind, let us pick up the "human telescope"-a scientific combat weapon for future study!

With the popularization and promotion of futurology research in the world, various schools of different views have emerged. In terms of ideology, there are mainly two schools of socialism and capitalism. The main differences are as follows: the former thinks that studying the future of society should include studying the development and changes of productivity and production relations; The latter regards productivity as the only driving force for social development. From the perspective of future development prospects, there are mainly two schools: "pessimists" and "optimists". The former is pessimistic about the prospects of science and technology and economic and social development and puts forward negative countermeasures; The latter is optimism about the future and corresponding countermeasures.
