Senegal is black. Senegal is located at the westernmost tip of Africa's western bulge, and its capital is Dakar. It is bordered by Mauritania to the north, Mali to the east, Guinea and Guinea-Bissau to the south, and the Cape Verde Islands to the west. The land area is 196,722 square kilometers and the coastline is 700 kilometers long.

Senegal is one of the least developed countries in the world and is an agricultural country. Forests account for 31% of the total land area and arable land accounts for about 27%. Peanuts are the most important economic and export crop. Other industries include fishing, mining, manufacturing and tourism.

Senegal’s physical geography.

The terrain of Senegal is mainly plains, with hilly highlands in the east and southeast, and undulating sand dunes along the coast. Senegal is influenced by the trade wind belt and has a savannah climate with summer rain and winter dryness. The annual average temperature is 29°C, and the highest temperature can reach 45°C. The highest temperature is from September to October, with the average temperature being 24~32°C. The annual rainfall is about 600 mm, increasing from north to south, and the rainy season is from June to October. The highest monthly average temperature is 27℃, and the lowest monthly average temperature is 17℃, decreasing from the inland to the coast.
