Historical evolution of Yunlong County

In the second year of Yuanfeng in the Western Han Dynasty (109 BC), "Bisu" County was established, which belonged to Yizhou County.

In the twelfth year of Yongping (69th year) of the Eastern Han Dynasty, it belonged to Yongchang County.

In the fifth year of Yongjia in the Western Jin Dynasty (311), Bisu County was separated from Yongchang County and Xihe County was established.

At the end of Liang Dynasty, Bisu abolished the county.

In the fourth year of Tang Wude's reign (621), it belonged to the General Administration Office of Nanning Prefecture and was called Yin Prefecture.

In the first year of Tang Linde (664), it was changed to the Yaozhou Governor's Mansion and was still called Yinzhou.

The east of the Lancang River in the Tang Dynasty (Nanzhao) belonged to Jianchuan Jiedu, and the west of the Lancang River belonged to Yongchang Jiedu.

It belongs to Shengxiang County in Song Dynasty (Dali), and is called "Yunlongzu". According to legend, "the (Lancang) River is covered with clouds and mist at night, and rises like a dragon in the morning", so it is named.

At the end of the Yuan Dynasty, the Yunlongdian Military and Civilian General Administration Office was established and the Qianhu Office was under the jurisdiction of the Jinzhi Xuanwei Department.

In the 17th year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty (1384), it was changed to Yunlong Prefecture, and Duan Bao was granted the title of Tuzhi Prefecture, which belonged to Dali Prefecture.

During the Zhengtong period of the Ming Dynasty (1436-1449), it was transferred to Menghua Prefecture, and later it still belonged to Dali Prefecture.

In the forty-eighth year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty (1620), Yunlong Prefecture "returned to its original land and returned to its current state", and its administrative seat remained in Jiuzhou.

In the second year of Chongzhen in the late Ming Dynasty (1629), because "salt courses were an important task", the state government was moved from Jiuzhou to Luomajing (today's Baofeng) on ??the bank of the Xian River east of the Lancang River.

It belonged to Dali Prefecture in the Qing Dynasty.

In the second year of the Republic of China (1913), the prefecture was changed into a county, and it belonged to Tengyue Road.

In the 18th year of the Republic of China (1929), the county office was changed to the county ***, directly under the province, and the administrative office was moved to Shimen.

On November 11, 1949 *** Yunlong County Working Committee was established in Dabaoluo Village, Guanli (now Changxin Township).

On November 13, the Yunlong County People’s Communist Party was established in Qideng Village in Shili (now Jincao Township).

On January 1, 1950, the Yunlong County Working Committee and the County People’s Communist Party moved to Shimen, the county seat.

Yunlong County belongs to Dali Prefecture and became part of Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture in 1956.

In October 1958, Yunlong County was abolished and merged into Yongping County.

In March 1961, Yunlong County was restored and still belonged to the Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture.
