Lianjiang Hechun Reservoir is located in Hechun Town, Zhanjiang City, in the north of Leizhou Peninsula. It was built to intercept Jiujiang. Construction started in June 1958 and was completed in August 1959. The reservoir area spans two provinces, three cities and four counties.

Lianjiang Hechun Reservoir is a multi-year regulating reservoir, with a total storage capacity of165438+87.5 million cubic meters, including flood regulation of 31150,000 cubic meters, profit-making of 536 million cubic meters and dead storage of 340 million cubic meters. The normal high water level is determined by the agreement between Guangdong and Guangxi governments in June 1958.

The normal high water level corresponds to the water surface 108.4 square kilometers and the storage capacity is 876 million cubic meters. There are 1 main dam, 36 auxiliary dams, 2 spillway, 1 water conveyance tunnel, 1 ship lock and 2 power stations in the reservoir area.
