What will Ukraine lose if Russia and Ukraine continue to confront each other?

If Ukraine chooses to continue confrontation, it will lose more territory. For example, in eastern Ukraine. Because eastern Ukraine itself is very close to Russia. Because there are many Russian immigrants there, their living customs are very similar to those of Russia. Therefore, once Ukraine continues to choose to confront Russia, people in eastern Ukraine will also choose to join Russia.

The confrontation between Ukraine and Russia will not change substantially in the short term, and the only thing that may change is the degree of confrontation. Ever since pro-Western Yushchenko and poroshenko stepped onto the political stage from the streets with the support of western countries, Ukrainian politics has been branded as pro-Western. After Yushchenko became president, he began to accelerate de-russification and threw himself into the embrace of the West. But for Ukraine, there is only one way to go, and that is to take the middle route. It is not in Ukraine's interest to completely turn to the West or Russia. From this perspective, pro-Russian former President Yanukovych is not the best choice for Ukraine.

More importantly, if we continue to choose confrontation, then the western countries will also abandon Ukraine. Because western countries don't need a poor Ukraine. They need a very strong country capable of confronting Russia. So if Ukraine's national economy collapses because of its confrontation with Russia, then the western countries will not hesitate to throw this mess to Russia.
