Why does Anhui have a weak sense of national existence?
The Yangtze River and Huaihe River divide Anhui into three plates, namely, northern Anhui, between Jianghuai and southern Anhui.
Most areas north of Huaihe River are plains, and cities such as Fuyang, Bozhou, Suzhou and Huaibei border Henan, Shandong and Jiangsu. Northern Anhui has frequent contacts with Shangqiu, Zhoukou, Xinyang, Xuzhou, Heze, Zaozhuang and other places since ancient times. It belongs to the Central Plains cultural circle and is influenced by the Central Plains culture far more than other areas in Anhui.
Jianghuai area has been a strategic place since ancient times. In ancient times, the economy of this place may be underdeveloped, but there are many military towns. Hefei, Shouxian and Fengyang have always been the forefront of the confrontation between the north and the south. It is better to defend the Yangtze River than to defend Hefei, Shouxian, Fengyang, Huai 'an and other military towns.
Southern Anhui is mountainous. In the past, it was extremely difficult for people in southern Anhui to go out and walk out of the mountains with their legs. Waterway has naturally become the first choice for people in southern Anhui to travel, do business and transport goods.
The Yangtze River and Xin 'anjiang, which flow through southern Anhui, are inevitable choices. The Yangtze River is in the east and Xin 'anjiang is in the southeast, so the center of activity in southern Anhui has always been in the south of the Yangtze River. Moreover, the Jiangnan area has been prosperous and rich since ancient times, and it is naturally not attractive to Huizhou merchants.
It can be found that none of the three plates in Anhui has ever been the center of gravity. Northern Anhui is mixed with Henan and Shandong, and the Jianghuai area is even barren in the war, while southern Anhui is all the way to the east. In the past, exchanges between the three places were not particularly frequent. The sentence that a person's vitality is not as good as that of his neighbor is vividly reflected in Anhui.
The three major plates in Anhui all have highlights, and the first one to rise is the densely populated northern Anhui area. Lao Zi and Zhuangzi, the earliest thinkers in China, were both born in northern Anhui. Later, the rise of Cao Cao not only made Bozhou a national historical city, but also led the development of national literature. Later, the rise of Zhu Yuanzhang directly established the last unified dynasty of the Han people. In short, there are many military commanders in northern Anhui, and the military style has been strong since ancient times.
Compared with northern Anhui, the Jianghuai area is slightly softer. Here, the north and south cultures complement each other and blend with each other. Let the people in the Jianghuai area be more tolerant and take care of them.
In southern Anhui, the style of writing prevailed. Most of the top scholars and scholars in Anhui in Ming and Qing Dynasties came from southern Anhui, and Xiuning County was the only top scholar county in China. From the period of Huizhou merchants, merchants in southern Anhui attached importance to foreign Confucianism, and the style of study was the highest in Anhui.
Different geographical and cultural environments naturally lead to different languages and cultures. People in northern Anhui eat more pasta, and the language is mainly Central Plains Mandarin.
In Jianghuai area, both rice and noodles are eaten, and the language is mainly Jianghuai Mandarin.
Mi language is the main language in southern Anhui, and Jianghuai Mandarin, Wu language and Hui language are the main languages, and even Gan language is used in some areas.
Without a unified export culture, it is naturally impossible to impress people. People who speak Central Plains Mandarin may be from Anhui, people who speak Jianghuai Mandarin may also be from Anhui, and people who speak Wu dialect may even be from Anhui.
The scattered export culture not only leads to the low sense of existence in Anhui province, but also leads to the low sense of identity in the province.
In fact, the culture exported to the outside world is closely related to the economic level. For example, there are many similar factions in Jiangsu, but due to the strength of southern Jiangsu, the impression of Jiangsu's export to the outside world is Wunong soft language, not Xuzhou's diguo chicken.
The situation in Anhui is more serious than that in Jiangsu, because Anhui has no strong plate like Jiangsu, which is directly related to the dislocation of Anhui's population and economy.
