Huailai Guanting Reservoir National Wetland Park is a national wetland park.

Guanting lake (Reservoir) is located in Huailai County, only 1 hour drive from Beijing. It has long been famous for its lakes and mountains, and now it has become the first choice for Beijing citizens and domestic tourists to escape the summer. Guanting lake (Reservoir) is the first large reservoir built after the founding of People's Republic of China (PRC). Here, the lake is wide, the mountains and rivers are beautiful, the blue waves are rippling, the fish are boating, the transportation is convenient and the climate is pleasant. It is an ideal tourist destination beyond the Great Wall, attracting a large number of Chinese and foreign tourists, and is known as the "Pearl beyond the Great Wall".

Guanting lake (Reservoir) is formed by the confluence of Sanggan River and Yanghe River in the northwest and Gui River in the northeast. Four fifths of the water surface is in Huailai County, and one fifth is in Yanqing County, Beijing. The water surface is 232 square kilometers, and the maximum storage capacity is 410.60 billion cubic meters. The majestic reservoir dam is located at the southern end, and there is a hydropower station on the left bank downstream of the dam. Downstream is the Yongding River Canyon. Guanting lake is located at the southern end of Huailai Basin, surrounded by mountains. It is named after the construction of a barrage near Guanting Village (the village moved out before the reservoir was built).

Sanggan River flowing from Zhuolu County and Yanghe River flowing from Xuanhua County meet near Zhuguantun, southwest of Shacheng, Huailai County, and are renamed Yongding River. Then it flows to the southeast, joins the Guishui River flowing in from Yanqing County, and finally flows south. For thousands of years, the Yongding River in the lower reaches of the river has been a harmful river. During the flood season, the river overflowed, and the roaring flood swallowed up a large number of fertile fields and villages, which seriously threatened Beijing and Tianjin. The tragic scene of flooding eight counties in JD.COM and sailing on Tianjin Highway has been recorded in history, and many people still remember it. In order to eradicate floods, Guanting Reservoir was officially started in June 195 1. 1953 before the flood season, the dam stood tall, blocking the flood and storing water. 1The reservoir was completed in May, 954. 1April, 1956, Guanting Power Plant was fully completed for power generation. The total installed capacity is 30,000 kilowatts. Since then, the flood has been eradicated. With the reform and opening up and the rise of tourism, many developers have taken a fancy to this place in recent years, and have invested in large-scale projects. Woniu Mountain, Yongding River Canyon Rafting, Mo Tian Park and other tourist areas have been built one after another.
