Studying in Australia depends on how to change your passport.

Reissue a passport

For many students studying abroad, passports are the only thing that can prove their identity. However, don't panic when faced with reasons such as lost passport or expiration in less than one year. We can apply for passports at the Australian Consulate of China.

Changing Passport in Australia If the validity period of your China passport does not meet the requirements for applying for the relevant visa (usually 1 year), you need to change a China passport with a longer validity period before submitting the visa application. In addition to the validity period, the circumstances that need to change passports include the following:

1) name change

2) passport photos need to be replaced if their appearance changes greatly.

3) The visa page is almost used up.

4) The validity period is less than one year.

In other words, in Australia, of course, if you want to change your China passport, you still have to go to China's official office in Australia. Don't listen to information from other channels and go to some illegal institutions. Otherwise, being cheated of money will often delay the important time of submitting visa applications ~

At present, the replacement of China passports is mainly handled at the consulates general of China in major cities. Before submitting the materials, you need to make an appointment online, fill in the form and print the application form. Applicants should submit their applications to the relevant embassies and consulates according to their residence in Australia and the consular section of the China Embassy and Consulate in Australia. China citizens in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane Consulates should make an appointment in advance and go to the office according to the appointment date. You can't submit it by mail or entrust others to do it for you.

4. Log in the visa information printed on the VEVO website of the Australian Immigration and Border Protection Department within 3 days before submitting the application. If necessary, the consular officer may ask the applicant to send his VEVO information to the e-mail address of the relevant embassy or consulate separately.

Australia reissues passports.

If your China passport is lost or stolen, you need to reissue it. Similarly, you need to apply for a new passport at the Australian Consulate.

Note that you need to make an appointment to fill out the form and print out the application form on the websites of different consular districts in China, which is the same as changing passports. In addition, the following materials should be prepared:

1. 1 Application Form for Passport/Travel Permit/Certificate of Returning to China (PDF) of the People's Republic of China, which is truly and completely filled in and signed. Download link of application form: a-

2.2 inch bareheaded recent photo of coated paper within 6 months. Note: Electronic passport chips use digital photos, and it is strongly recommended to provide CD or DVD discs engraved with the same version of digital photos (mobile hard disks or other mobile storage media are not accepted).

3. Copy of the original passport (if any), or copy of one of the following materials to prove the applicant's nationality and identity in China: household registration book, identity card or birth certificate, etc.

4. If your passport is lost, stolen or damaged, you should fill in a passport loss or damage statement, provide your identity and original passport information, and explain in detail your experience before and after traveling to Australia, your residence in Australia, the location and process of your passport being lost, stolen or damaged, etc.

5. Log in the visa information printed on the VEVO website of the Australian Immigration and Border Protection Department within 3 days before submitting the application. If necessary, the consular officer may ask the applicant to send his VEVO information to the e-mail address of the relevant embassy or consulate separately.

* After the materials for going to the embassy at the scheduled time are submitted, due to the need to verify the identity and passport status with the relevant domestic authorities, and limited by the response time of the public security organs, it is impossible to determine the time for issuing passports. Usually, the date indicated on the evidence collection form (if any) or the date notified by the embassy or consulate by telephone will be paid by myself or the person entrusted to collect the passport.

It should be reminded that lost or stolen passports will be declared invalid. If the original photo is found after submitting the application, the application cannot be withdrawn, and the passport should be sent to the relevant embassy or consulate for cancellation as soon as possible. Entry with an invalid passport may be refused entry or fined.

In addition, as China is a country that does not recognize dual nationality, China citizens who have settled in foreign countries voluntarily join or acquire foreign nationality will automatically lose their China nationality and may not apply for or continue to hold China passports.
