George Rodona claimed to be resurrected three days after his death. Who can provide some background information about him?
Dr. George Rodona has a doctorate in medicine, a doctorate in neuropathology and a doctorate in religious psychology. He once submitted an article to the United Nations to discuss "the emerging spirituality in the world". Before he immigrated to the United States from the former Soviet Union in 1989, he worked as a psychiatrist at Moscow University.
Dr. Luo once had a long recorded "clinical near-death experience". In 1976, he was hit by a car and was immediately confirmed dead. He was put in the morgue for three days, and he didn't "come back from the dead" until a doctor cut his abdomen for autopsy.
Although near-death experience is common, Dr. Luo's near-death experience has another remarkable feature, that is, he was completely changed by this incident. Before that, he was a psychiatrist and considered himself an atheist. However, after this incident, he devoted himself to the study of religious psychology and was elected as a priest of the Orthodox Church. Later, he became a pastor of the First United Methodist Church in Nederland, Texas.
The following is Dr. Luo's self-report, which is taken from The Journey Home written by Phillip Berman.
-----------. Somehow, at that time, I could still realize that I was George, and there was only darkness around me, which I had never seen before, completely and completely, and could not be darker. This darkness surrounds me and oppresses me. I'm unprepared for this, and I'm terrified! I was shocked to find myself alive, but I didn't know where I was. Only one thought lingers in my mind:' What will happen when I don't exist?' The idea bothers me.
"Slowly, I clenched my hand and began to think about what happened and what would happen next. But nothing is easy and pleasant. Why did I come in such a dark place? What am I going to do? Then I remembered Descartes' famous saying:' I think, therefore I am', and I felt relieved, because at this moment I can be sure that I am still alive, although obviously in a very different dimension. I thought,' If I still exist, why not face it positively?' So I thought, I am George, I am in the dark, but I still know who I am. I am who I am, and I can't do nothing.
"Next, I was thinking:' What's the positive method in the dark?' Well, positivity is light. Then, all of a sudden, I was in the light, very shining and bright white light! It's like the flash of a camera, but it's not flickering. It's bright and constant like that. At first, I found the light painful, and I couldn't look at it directly. But gradually, I began to feel safe and warm, and suddenly, everything seemed fine.
"Next, I saw all the microscopic particles flying around me, atoms, protons and neutrons flying everywhere. On the one hand, they are completely chaotic, but this chaos also has its own symmetry, which brings me great happiness. This symmetry is wonderful and seamless, and I am immersed in incomparable happiness, and the cosmic form of life and nature is displayed before my eyes. At this time, all my worries about my body vanished, because I clearly realized that I no longer needed it, on the contrary, it would actually limit me.
"Everything in this experience is integrated, so it's hard for me to make sense of everything. The time I know has stopped. For my eternal life unity, the past, the present and the future are fused together.
"at some point, I also experienced the so-called' life review'. I saw my whole life from the beginning to the end in a flash. I participated in the actual performance of my life, just like a holographic image of my life-there is no past, present or future, just the actual situation of this moment and my life. It is not from birth to life in Moscow University, but all at once. I was there. This is my life. I don't feel guilty or guilty about what I have done, and I don't feel anything about success or failure. What I feel is that my life is like that, and I am satisfied with it and accept it.
"During this period, the light shining gave me peace and joy, which is undoubtedly very positive. I am so happy in the light. I understand the meaning of light. I realize that all the physical laws of human beings are nothing compared with the truth of the universe; I also learned that black holes are just another part of infinite light; I also understand that truth is everywhere, not simply that there is life on the earth, and there are infinite lives; Everything is not only connected, but also integrated. So, I feel the whole with light, and everything is with me and the universe.
I can go anywhere instantly. I tried to communicate with the people I met, and some felt my presence, but no one did anything about it. I feel the need to study the Bible and philosophy. You think, you receive, you think, and they come. So, I went back and lived in the thoughts of Jesus and his disciples. I participated in it. I heard their conversation, experienced their eating, passing wine, smelling and tasting-yes, I have no body, and I am in pure consciousness. If I don't understand what happened, an explanation will come, but no teacher will speak. I explored the Roman Empire, Babylon, Noah and Abraham, and I was there at any time you can name it.
"In this way, I was immersed in all the wonderful things and wonderful experiences until someone was ready to cut my abdomen. Can you imagine my situation in the morgue? I was declared dead and left there for three days. Because they want to investigate the cause of my death, they sent someone to do an autopsy. When they were about to perform a laparotomy on me, I felt as if there was a great force holding my neck and pressing me down. This force was so powerful that it made me open my eyes and feel great pain. My body was cold and began to tremble. They immediately stopped the autopsy and took me to the hospital. I stayed in the hospital for nine months and almost always wore a respirator.
"I gradually recovered my health, but it's never the same as before. I just want to learn wisdom in the rest of the light. This new interest prompted me to come to the University of Georgia (former Soviet Union) and get my second doctorate: Doctor of Religious Psychology. Then I became a pastor of the Orthodox Church. Finally, in 1989, my family immigrated to the United States, and I became an assistant pastor of the First United Methodist Church in Nederland, Texas.
"Many people ask me what I believe in? How did my near-death experience change me All I can say is that I believe in the God of this universe. However, unlike others, I never call God light, because God is beyond our understanding. I believe in God more than light, even darkness. God is everything that exists-this is completely beyond our understanding. Therefore, I don't believe in the Jewish God, the Christian God, the Hindu God or any other religion's idea of "what is God or not". They are talking about the same God, who showed me the beauty and wonderful mystery of the universe in which we live. They are linked together forever and ever.
"Anyone who has experienced God will feel such a profound experience connected with the truth, and know that the only truly meaningful thing in life is love: love for nature, love for animals, love for created things, just because they are like that. Serve God with warm, loving and generous hands-this is the only meaning of life.
"Many people turn to us who have had near-death experiences because they think we have the answer. But I know it's not, at least not completely. None of us can understand the great truth of life unless we finally unite with eternity after death. But sometimes, we catch a glimpse of the answer on earth, and that's enough for me. I love asking questions and seeking answers, but I know that in the end I must live with questions and answers. This is good, isn't it? As long as we love and love wholeheartedly, it doesn't matter. Perhaps the best way to express this point is to borrow a passage written by Rilke in a letter to a friend. I once read the original in the library of Dresden University. I still remember it:
"Get along with the unsolved mysteries in your heart patiently, try to love the questions themselves, and don't seek the answers that I can't give you, because you will not be able to live with them.". The important thing is to live in everything, live in the question now, maybe you don't understand it yet, but one day, you will live alone in the answer. "
"My belief is based on this. Live in a problem and the universe will open their eyes for you. "
-----------. Dr. Moss quoted George's Russian name Yuri in his book. The following is the story about George's conversation with a baby in his near-death experience:
In the near-death experience, Yuri's soul can come home, and he sees his sad wife and two young sons who still don't understand that his father is dead.
Later, he went to the neighbor's house next door. They had just added a baby a few days before Yu Ri died. Yu Ri understood that they were upset by the baby because he kept crying.
no matter what they do, he just keeps crying. When he falls asleep, there is a pause, but when he wakes up, he will continue to cry. They took him to the doctor, but the doctor was puzzled, because all possible pains, such as hernia, were ruled out, so the doctors had to send them home, hoping that the little guy would finally calm down.
Without a body, Yu Ri (Soul) discovered something strange:
"Amazingly, I can talk to the baby. I can't talk to his parents-my friends, but I can talk to the newborn baby. I asked him what was wrong. We don't communicate with each other in language. I may ask him what's wrong with him by telepathy. He told me that his arm was hurt. When he told me, I could see his broken and bent bones. "
The little guy has a lateral bending fracture on his arm (also known as "green branch fracture" in medicine), which was twisted at birth. Now, both Yu Ri and the little guy know where the problem is, but there is no way to tell the adults.
Finally, doctors from Moscow performed an autopsy on Yu Ri, and his eyes blinked when they carried Yu Ri's body from the corpse locker to a gurney bed with wheels. The suspicious doctor examined his eyes and found that they responded to light, so he immediately pushed him to the emergency room and saved him.
Yu Ri told his family about his "death", and no one believed him. Their doubts were less until he told them many details he saw when he was out of body. And his diagnosis of the baby next door looks more like a prank. Later, when the neighbors came to visit him, he told them that they were particularly worried about the baby that night, and told them that he had talked with the child and found a lateral bend fracture in his arm. The baby's parents took the child to see a doctor, and the X-ray showed the problem of the child's arm, which confirmed the long-distance diagnosis.
-----------. I also recorded a short story about him in my book Beyond the Light. I say "brief" because what happened to him is beyond the scope of the book on the theme of near-death experience, and it is easy to become a book by itself.
George was an outspoken dissident in the former Soviet Union, which would have killed him at that time. This also led to a series of things that happened later-he was assassinated by the former Soviet National Security Council (KGB) (that is, in 1976, he was killed by a car. -translator). Because the accident was highly political, there was a subsequent autopsy. At that time, his body was stored in the freezer until the autopsy three days later. When the doctors made an incision in his body, he woke up from the autopsy table, and his own uncle was among the doctors present.
I have studied near-death experience for 26 years, and his near-death experience is the longest, the most dramatic, the most conclusive and the most exciting. Now, we believe that George Rodona has "gone home".
In his later days, he always succeeded in sharing his stories and trying his best to help others. My only regret is that he has never written a book about his own experience. Perhaps, he wrote it, written in the hearts of everyone who has heard his story.
Best wishes, dear George. We will always miss you.
