The reporter learned that starting from April 16 before that, Huang Mouwen, director of the circulation department of Meizhou Daily, Guo Mouxing, director of the printing factory, and Chen Mouyuan, chief of the finance department, were successively arrested by Meizhou City. The reporter learned from a staff member of the Meizhou City Discipline Inspection Department that 53-year-old Li Xiangyang (from Songkou, Meixian County) became the president of Meizhou Daily in early 2004. In the six years from 2006 to his departure, the unit suffered losses every year. An employee of the newspaper said, "There is a lack of financial supervision, and some people have cheated and done many things that harmed the public and enriched private interests." Many cadres and employees of Meizhou Daily discussed privately that Li Xiangyang owns properties in many places, and his property does not match his income.

It is also confirmed that Xingning Publishing Station, a subsidiary of Meizhou Daily, was exposed not long ago. An employee robbed 1.8 million yuan of newspaper subscription payment a few years ago; a few years ago, the newspaper's printing plant purchased a newspaper worth 6.5 million yuan. Yuan's equipment was also suspected of being bribed during the transaction.

An employee of Meizhou Daily said that in the past few days, many people from the unit have been summoned by the Meizhou City Procuratorate to cooperate with the investigation. The employees said that on February 22, superiors had sent a new president. Everything works as usual.
