Where is Zhexi Reservoir?

Zhexi Reservoir, located 15 kilometers west of Anhua County, is a large-scale hydropower station built in the early 1960s to intercept the Zijiang River and build a dam. It is the earliest "ruby in Hunan" "It not only brings light to the three Hunan and four rivers, but also forms a hundred-mile high gorge out of Pinghu upstream of the dam, becoming a "hundred-mile gallery" in central Hunan that is better than the landscape of the Lijiang River.

The starting point of the scenic spot is a majestic dam with a length of 330 meters and a height of 104 meters. It is like a rainbow flying across the north and south of the Yangtze River. There is a dam ship lock in the north and a highway tunnel in the south. Whenever the dam releases water, the river water with a height of 100 meters flows down from the nine overflow holes, with nine silver bars hanging in the air, and rolling snow waves like the sea and the river, which is breathtaking. At night, there are thousands of silver lanterns above and below the dam, like silver stars falling into the world.

Take a boat from the power station dam to Pingkou Town. The total length of the waterway is 56 kilometers. Along both sides of the river, there are various mountains and green trees. Some are like horses lining the river, some are like fairies descending to earth, some are like two dragons playing with pearls, and some are like the reappearance of the Three Gorges. It is indeed a Baili landscape, a Baili gallery, not the Lijiang River but better than the Lijiang River. The entire reservoir area consists of five scenic spots: Duikou River, Baota Mountain, Meiwang Cave, Fushou Mountain, and Dagong Pond, forming a unique landscape painting of graceful beauty and majestic danger. There are 45 isolated islands of different sizes in the reservoir, forming a magnificent landscape of mountains in the lake, lakes in the mountains, mountains and rivers, blue water and blue sky. The yacht sails in the lake, sometimes as majestic as sailing into the Three Gorges, and sometimes as if sailing on Dongting Lake. The orange fruits on Pagoda Mountain are fragrant, the hundreds of trees on Linkesuo Mountain are amazing, the monkeys have settled on the small island in the lake, and the beautiful peacock has fluttered its wings and opened its tail on the green island. In recent years, folk resorts have been built in the lake branches in the mountainous areas of the reservoir area, and live fish restaurants and mountain delicacies restaurants have been set up on boat houses on the water. Foreign tourists come to the reservoir area for bed vacation, stay for two or three nights and play for three or five days, which guarantees that you will be happy and fresh every day.
