Hechi City, the only municipal district, is the political, economic, cultural and commercial center of Hechi City, an important gateway to the southwest and a distribution center for commodity circulation.

It belongs to the remnant vein zone of Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, and the terrain is inclined from northwest to southeast, with an elevation of 400-600 meters in general and a maximum elevation of114 meters.
