Brief introduction of Beijing Women's Federation

Beijing Women's Federation was founded in June 1949 1 1. It is a mass organization of women from all walks of life in Beijing and a local organization of China Women's Federation. Its basic function is to represent and safeguard women's rights and interests and promote gender equality. The highest authority of the Beijing Women's Federation is the Beijing Women's Congress. Beijing Women's Federation has 16 district (county) women's federations, 158 street women's federations, 162 township women's federations, 2,646 community (neighborhood) women's congresses, 3,944 rural women's congresses, 16 women's organizations and 6 research associations.
