Its products have been exported to the United States, Japan and some countries in Southeast Asia.

1937, the July 7th Incident broke out in War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression. In order to meet the needs of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, the equipment of Hanyang Iron Works has been relocated in Dadukou, Chongqing. On the eve of the fall of Wuhan on June 24th, 1938, the equipment that could not be dismantled was blown up.

After liberation, in order to develop the national economy, the central government established Wuhan Iron and Steel Company, the first and largest steel joint venture in New China, in Qingshan District, Wuhan. Wuhan Municipal Government has built Hanyang Iron and Steel Plant in Hanyang area. And successively built Hanyang Zhongnan Steel Rolling Plant, Hanyang Wire Rope Plant, Hanyang Steel Pipe Plant, Hanyang Strip Steel Plant, Hanyang Machinery Plant (later merged with Cold Rolling Plant), Hankou Steel Rolling Plant, Hankou Cold Rolling Plant, Wuchang Coking Plant and other metallurgical enterprises, which are subordinate to Wuhan Metallurgical Industry Bureau. After the economic system reform, it was reorganized into Wuhan Metallurgical Industry Company.

From June 5, 2005 to February 2000, WISCO (Group) decided to corporatize the metallurgical company and set up WISCO Metallurgical Co., Ltd., which was renamed as Jiangbei Steel Processing and Distribution Co., Ltd. in June 2005.

On June 29th, 2007, it was officially renamed as WISCO Group Wuhan Jiangbei Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Jiangbei Company).

Now, the city enterprises affiliated to Jiangbei Company are undergoing reorganization, relocation and transformation-they will move to two new bases, Yangluo and Jiangxia, and start writing a new chapter in history.
