Relevant experts remind graduates: Don’t blindly be greedy for more when submitting resumes, and it is best to go together for interviews in other places.
Impersonating a pick-up driver to steal a mobile phone
Xiao Lin, a 2005 graduate of South China Normal University (the names mentioned in this article are all pseudonyms), came to the "2005 Spring Education and Normal University" on January 9 "The supply and demand meeting for college graduates (Dongguan)", she immediately fell in love with "The Middle School Affiliated to Peking University Distance Education Normal School", so she submitted her resume. At around 11:30 p.m., she received a call. The other party claimed to be a teacher from the Distance Education Normal School of the Middle School Affiliated to Peking University. She notified Xiaolin that she would go to the school for an interview the next afternoon and set a time and place to send a car to China Normal University to pick her up. Xiaolin, who was full of joy, had no idea that this was the beginning of a scam.
At 1:45 noon on the 10th, Xiaolin arrived at the meeting place. The "teacher" called and said he would send a motorcycle to pick her up. Xiaolin got on the motorcycle without thinking about it. When she was approaching the highway intersection, Xiaolin's cell phone rang. The "teacher" called again and asked her if she was getting on the bus. Then he said, "The teacher who picked you up doesn't know the situation very well. Give him your cell phone, and he and I will Talk about it." So the motorcycle stopped, and Xiaolin handed the phone to the driver. Her intuition told her that something was wrong. At this time, the driver's helmet fell off the car and the driver asked her to go down and pick it up. Xiaolin refused and insisted on getting her phone back first. Seeing that she was already suspicious, the driver immediately hit the gas pedal and ran away with his cell phone. Only then did Xiaolin realize that she had been cheated!
Submission of resumes must be targeted
Mr. Hou Yongxiong from the Student Employment Guidance Center of South China Normal University pointed out that employment safety education should be arranged when colleges and universities offer employment guidance courses for senior students.
He reminded graduates that there are currently many criminals who defraud or rob college students who are eager to find jobs, such as defrauding agency fees and robbing property. Therefore, when submitting resumes, college students should not have the mentality of "casting a big net to catch small fish", but should submit them in a purposeful and targeted manner, and keep their own information confidential. At the same time, we must strengthen our awareness of self-protection. "College students should calmly think about the interview notices they receive from their units. Especially when they are applying for jobs in other places, they should be more aware of precautions. Especially girls, it is best to accompany them."
