Akto County belongs to Kizilsu Kirgiz Autonomous Prefecture in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. Akto County is the westernmost county-level administrative region in China, bordering Wuqia County and Shufu County in the north, across the river from Yuepuhu County in the northeast, Yingjisha County and shache county County in the east, and Tashkurgan Tajik Autonomous County in the south. The border line is 380 kilometers long and belongs to Kizilsu Kirgiz Autonomous Prefecture in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. Akto is Kirgiz, which means White Mountain, that is, Snow Mountain. It is named after the county seat located in the oasis under the father of the iceberg, Mustag Atta. The county seat is apart from Urumqi 1535km, Artux 103km and Kashgar, 37km. 1August, 954, Akto set up a county, which consists of Yingjisha County, Shufu County and Puli County in Kashgar.
