Reading, Reading —— My View on Reading

Everyone lives in two worlds, one is the real world and the other is the ideal world. If the real world is limited, then the ideal world is infinite. Our "finiteness" lies not only in the length of life, the fixed and unsatisfactory living area, but also in the fact that our thoughts often cannot transcend ourselves and time and space. But we can still seek "infinity" and the ideal world in our hearts. Then, reading is undoubtedly an important way to seek, and the thinking and happiness caused by reading will help us gradually move towards infinity. In reading, we have experienced a different life and seen a different world, which gives us more understanding and sentiment about reality and our own life.

Why did I choose the word "reading" instead of "reading" here? I think there is a difference between "reading" and "reading": "reading" can be said to be reading text information, picture information or symbol information in a broader sense. We can call all simple information browsing without strong thinking "reading". I don't remember how many books I have read. After graduating from English education, I got a bachelor's degree in Chinese language and literature. In the 1980s, it caught up with the major newspapers to recruit "special correspondent", "invited editor" and "contract journalist". He also participated in the "news writing training" of the journalism department of Fudan University, and the "correspondent news broadcast training" of the reporter departments of People's Daily, China Education Newspaper and China Teachers' Newspaper.

The reason why "reading" is called "reading" is that a person's thoughts and emotions are mixed with those of the owner or author of the work, and they are intertwined with each other, resulting in a life-and-death relationship. Any deeper reading than reading can be collectively called reading.

As we all know, it is difficult for teachers to learn. Although they are immersed in books every day, the reading time has to be rescheduled. Except for smart teachers who unify reading and preparing lessons, many teachers have no way or time to study. Too intense work, too heavy teaching tasks, and the need for atmosphere for emotional adjustment will all affect teachers' reading mood and plans. There are also some teachers who want to study every day, but they have no books to read every day. They really can't study without any special pursuits and hobbies, and "reading" can't be "utilitarian".

Everywhere I go, I will first find a bookstore and go "treasure hunting". Therefore, the most things in my family are "books". In my opinion, books are magical. It is no exaggeration to say that books are my life. I am often moved by the plot in the book, impressed by the wisdom of the characters in the book, and inspired by the philosophy in the book. Reading has become a part of my daily life. Personally, I think reading can increase skills, nourish the soul and change life. I regard books as my best friend. I can skip meals for a day, but I can't skip reading for a day. My reading life is varied: some are warm, some are bitter, some are legendary ... from paper books to e-books, from books to the internet, from books with words to books without words, but they all make me unforgettable.

Now that I am middle-aged, I still use my spare time to read a lot of English books, extensively dabble in books and literary works of pedagogy, psychology, philosophy and other majors, and take notes carefully, so that my knowledge can be accumulated, my thoughts can keep pace with the times, my literacy can be improved, and my mind can be armed with advanced educational ideas.

My reading plan is as follows: read an article about English education and teaching every day, take notes, read a teaching magazine every week, take notes, intensively read a monograph every month, make a good reading experience, read five other books extensively every semester, and make eyebrow extracts. Let what you have learned be applied in practice, organize your own self-study notes, insist on writing essays on education and teaching, and form the habit of timely reflection and diligent accumulation.

On the other hand, friends from newspapers and publishing houses occasionally send some books and newspapers. Their purpose, of course, is to hope that I can write something when I am free. But unfortunately, due to limited energy, most of the time was entrusted to others. However, I didn't completely disappoint them. I always carefully read all the books and newspapers given away, and write some tofu blocks to them in my spare time, counting the returns.

Some people may ask, how did you finish reading so many books on it? Have you noticed with the teacher who used to work in an office that apart from attending classes, going to the classroom during recess and taking students to the playground to go to the toilet, I hardly go to "building to building" and talk about "Zhang parents and Li family are short", and I always sit in my seat in obscurity to prepare things related to education and teaching. In this way, almost all the time after work is mine, so I can calm down and learn to write. Books are read in, internalized and transformed, otherwise you can only be a book basket, and the books you read can only be used as your talk after dinner. One way to change it is to write. Actually reading is thinking. Only by turning the contents of reading and thinking into words can we really walk into our own hearts, and we can really turn the author's thinking into our own thinking, into systematic and mature thinking, rather than fragments of scattered thoughts, and then put it into practice and get the happiness of re-creation.

Short-sightedness is most likely to lead to "quick success and instant benefit" and "impetuousness", but these are exactly what I should pay attention to as an educator. So, I started a reading journey from books to the internet, from paper books to e-books. My online reading focuses on the education network. On all kinds of educational networks at all levels, I manage my own space while reading and be a good moderator. At the same time, I was fortunate to be the vice president of Baidu Space Core Management Organization, the largest search website in China, and participated in the development and trial of Baidu Library and Baidu Excellent Courses. Then improve yourself in reading, sublimate yourself in writing and exercise yourself in work.

"Returning to myself in reading", now I feel more and more that expanding the scope of reading has brought me a silent revolution-from the inside out; From life to work; From the classroom to the family. I changed my view of the world because of reading, so everything else naturally changed.
