Does the gas storage tank belong to the category of pressure vessels?

Gas storage tanks do not necessarily belong to special equipment. Whether it belongs to special equipment mainly depends on its storage medium, pressure and volume. The reason for this is the following：

Special equipment refers to boilers, pressure vessels (including gas cylinders, the same below), pressure pipes, elevators, lifting machinery, passenger ropeways, large amusement facilities and special motor vehicles in the field (factory) which are related to life safety and great danger. 20 14 1 1, AQSIQ issued the newly revised Catalogue of Special Equipment, which describes the pressure vessels as follows:

Pressure vessel refers to the closed equipment that contains gas or liquid and bears a certain pressure, and its scope is defined as the gas with the highest working pressure greater than or equal to 0. 1MPa (gauge pressure), the liquefied gas and liquid with the highest working temperature greater than or equal to the standard boiling point, the fixed vessel and the mobile vessel with the volume greater than or equal to 30L and the inner diameter (the maximum geometric dimension of the inner boundary of a non-circular section refers to the section) greater than or equal to150 mm. Gas cylinders containing gas with nominal working pressure greater than or equal to 0.2 MPa (gauge pressure) and product of pressure and volume greater than or equal to 1.0 MPa L, liquefied gas and liquid with standard boiling point equal to or lower than 60℃; Oxygen chamber.

It can be seen that:

1) If the gas storage tank does not meet the requirements of the pressure vessel, the tank does not belong to the pressure vessel and shall not be used as special equipment. If the gas in the gas storage tank is compressed air, the pressure is less than 0. 1MPa, and the volume is less than 30L, it is not a pressure vessel and can not be managed as special equipment.

2) If the gas storage tank is short of tanks and meets the requirements of pressure vessels, the gas storage tank is special equipment. If the gas in the gas storage tank is compressed air with a pressure of 1MPa and a volume of 2000L, it belongs to a pressure vessel and should be managed according to special equipment.
