The social security subsidy standards for the death of Guangzhou workers are as follows:

1. The family members can receive funeral subsidy, one-time relief fee for immediate family members, and living relief fee for dependent immediate family members (survivor's fee) and other three treatments. Among them, the living relief fee for dependent immediate family members, and the monthly living relief fee for dependent immediate family members who meet the prescribed conditions shall be paid according to the standard of the minimum subsistence guarantee for urban residents in the city where the enterprise is located;

2. The family members of the enterprise employees, including employees and retirees, who die of illness or work-related deaths, may receive funeral grants and pensions. Funeral subsidies, the new standard for funeral subsidies, is in accordance with the previous year's local urban residents monthly per capita disposable income of two times; one-time pension, enterprise retirees who died after September 1, 2021, to the death of the province in the previous year's monthly per capita disposable income of urban residents as a base, according to the number of years of on-the-job contribution period and the number of years of receiving basic pension to determine the number of months of payment;

Legal basis: Article 39 of the Regulations on Work-Related Injury Insurance

When an employee dies at work, his next of kin will receive a funeral grant, a dependent relative's pension, and a one-time death grant from the Work-Related Injury Insurance Fund, in accordance with the following provisions:

(1) the funeral grant will be six months of the co-ordinated area's previous year's monthly salary of the employee.

(2) The dependent relatives' pension is paid as a percentage of the employee's own salary to the relatives of the employee who provided the main source of livelihood and were unable to work before the employee's death at work. The standard is 40% per month for spouses, 30% per month for each of the other relatives, and 10% per month for each of the widows or orphans on top of the above standard. The sum of the approved pensions for each dependent relative shall not be higher than the salary of the employee who died at work before his or her death. The specific scope of the dependent relatives shall be stipulated by the social insurance administrative department of the State Council;

(3) The standard of the one-time death benefit shall be 20 times the per capita disposable income of urban residents nationwide in the previous year.

If a disabled employee dies as a result of a work-related injury during the period of time off work without pay, his or her close relatives shall enjoy the treatment provided for in the first paragraph of this Article.

If a Grade I to Grade IV disabled employee dies after the expiration of the period of stay of pay, his close relatives shall enjoy the treatment stipulated in paragraph 1 (a) and (b) of this Article.
