I bought social security for a year, but now I don't want to buy it. Can I get a refund?

If you don't buy it, you can't get a refund. If you surrender, you can get a refund.

However, surrender is conditional. According to the Social Insurance Law, "individual accounts may not be withdrawn in advance." Therefore, social security cannot be surrendered, and it will only merge with workplace transfer. But if you pay off halfway, the Social Security Bureau will also keep your account balance. When you retire, you can apply for account balance at the local social security window with your social security card or ID card. However, if you haven't gone through the retirement formalities at retirement age, you can apply for a refund of your "personal account" balance plus interest, so that even if you pay social security for several years, you can't surrender if you don't want to pay it.

Only under the following special circumstances will the fees paid by yourself be refunded.

1, died before reaching the statutory retirement age, and the account has been cancelled in the public security organ;

2, go through the formalities of going abroad to settle down, and the account has been cancelled in the public security organs of our country;

3. The insured has reached retirement age and has not paid the fee for 15 years;

4, repeated insurance and termination of labor relations can be surrendered.
