Shanghai social security is automatically deducted.

According to Article 8 (Time of Payment by Unit) of the Implementation Measures for Collection and Payment of Social Insurance Fees in Shanghai, social insurance fees shall be paid on the date specified by the social insurance agency from 1 day to 15 day every month.

Shanghai social security is generally deducted once at the beginning of the month (around the 7th) and once at the end of the month (after the 20th). If the deduction is successful at the beginning of the month, it will not be deducted at the end of the month. If the deduction at the beginning of the month is unsuccessful or insufficient, it will be deducted again at the end of the month to make up for it.
