The billionaire entrepreneur usually doesn't make public his political views, especially on social media, except for occasionally yelling at climate science. However, Trump's anti-immigrant sentiment seems to have touched a nerve.
Trump signed an executive order on Friday (65438+1October 27th), suspending the migration of refugees from war-torn countries around the world 120 days, and prohibiting all Syrians from entering the United States indefinitely, regardless of their immigration status. People from six other populous countries were also banned from entering the United States for 90 days.
One day after Trump signed the executive order, on Saturday (65438+1October 28th), Musk began to express his thoughts on new immigration restrictions on Twitter. He wrote that administrative action "is not the best way to deal with national challenges" and pointed out that many people are unfairly affected by this policy.
Against the new order without direct refusal, Musk asked his Twitter followers to read the full text of the executive order and put forward suggestions for revision. Although several of his followers called for abolition, Musk, who became Trump's adviser in June+February, 5438, thought that the amendment would be more feasible.
