The characteristics of population distribution in Europe are as follows:

1. Uneven population density distribution: Europe is uneven, Northern Europe is sparse, Eastern Europe is high, and Western Europe is somewhere in between. The degree of urbanization in Europe is very high, especially in western European countries, where the urban population accounts for a high proportion of the total population.

2. Serious population aging: European countries generally face the problem of population aging. With the decline of fertility rate and the improvement of medical level, the proportion of the elderly population in Europe has increased year by year, while the proportion of the young population has decreased year by year.
