Can the Bailong River water diversion start this year?
As of February 3, 2023, according to the public information of the Chinese government website, the Bailong River Water Diversion Project was included in the 150 major water conservancy project initiated and implemented by the state in recent three years. The project started in Qingyang section in July 2022.
Bailong River Water Diversion Project is a major strategic project in Gansu Province. The project plans to take water from the upper reaches of Bailong River, a tributary of Jialing River in Gansu Province, and supply water to 20 counties (districts) in Tianshui, Pingliang and Qingyang in the southeast of Gansu Province and 4 counties (districts) in Yan 'an City, Shaanxi Province.
