In 1984, my parents went to work in Shenzhen. Then when I was five years old, I followed them there in 1988, and the pictures of my hometown became memories. When I was 16 years old, I returned to Taizhou to study alone. My grandfather was already over 80 years old and had no way to take care of me. I lived alone in this memory, a city that was both strange and familiar.

Everyone has a story of rebellion in adolescence, and I am the same, and I have not violated this rule. Until you graduate from college and start working, you are not willing to follow the path arranged by your parents. They wanted me to go back to Shenzhen to work. I don’t like Shenzhen, an impersonal city. Although there are my elementary school and junior high school classmates there and many of my memories, I have fallen deeply in love with them during my high school years in Taizhou. After all, my roots are here, and the most beautiful memories of my adolescence have been left here. After graduating from college, I returned to this small town, worked here, lived here, and met my lover here!

At the age of 26, I met my wife and we got married a year later. My parents are getting older, and they respect my choice. After all, Shenzhen is a city of immigrants, and our roots are in Taizhou. They finally decided to return to their hometown to settle down. After we got married, I said to my wife, before I met you, I had been living outside for ten years.
