Rongcheng International Fishermen's Festival originated from the traditional Grain Rain Festival of local fishermen. As early as the Spring and Autumn Period, the benefits of fish salt were vigorously promoted here. Every year in Grain Rain, when the spring flood comes, hundreds of fish go ashore. Fishermen who have rested for a winter are busy again, going out to sea to fish and starting a new year's offshore production. In order to thank "Poseidon" for its abundant fish and shrimp, wish the fish and shrimp Man Cang every day, and pray for God's blessing to avoid disaster, fishermen will hold traditional sacrificial activities on the day of Grain Rain Festival, and Grain Rain Festival has become a festival for Rongcheng fishermen since then. Since the reform and opening-up, wealthy fishermen have infiltrated new culture, new concepts and new ideas into the Grain Rain Festival. They have entered the noble realm of singing, celebrating the harvest and singing and dancing from the simple expectation of offering sacrifices to the gods to ensure peace, which has made this activity more and more high and become an important cultural and entertainment content in Rongcheng fishermen's life.
