Jinggangshan is located in Ciping Town, Jinggangshan City, Ji 'an City, Jiangxi Province, at the junction of eastern Hunan and western Jiangxi, and the northern branch of Wanyang Mountain. It is 35km away from the new urban area of Jinggangshan City and about130km away from Jizhou District of Ji 'an downtown. It is said that people lived in Jinggangshan during the Eastern Han Dynasty.

The forest coverage rate in Jinggangshan is 8 1.2%, and the annual average temperature is 14.2 degrees. There are still many undeveloped virgin forests. It is the most representative mountain subtropical evergreen broad-leaved forest area in the world, with thousands of representative plants such as yew, ginkgo, half-maple lotus, Mexican Taxodium, Berberis and so on. Jinggangshan porcelain clay ore and rare earth ore are rich in reserves, which are two dominant minerals. Jinggangshan is called "the cradle of China revolution".
