Dule Temple

Dule Temple is located in the west gate of Ji County, Tianjin. First built in the Tang Dynasty, the Guanyin Pavilion and the mountain gate in the temple were rebuilt in the second year of Emperor Tonghe of the Liao Dynasty. It is one of the oldest existing wooden structures in the country.

The mountain gate is the main gate of Dule Temple. The large plaque with three characters "Dule Temple" hanging on the forehead is said to have been inscribed by Yan Song, an official of the Ming Dynasty. There are two tall statues of heavenly kings guarding both sides, commonly known as the two generals "Humph" and "Ha". They are treasures of painted sculptures from the Liao Dynasty.

The main building of Dule Temple, the Guanyin Pavilion, is 23 meters high. It is the culmination of my country's wooden structure architecture and is the earliest existing ancient wooden structure pavilion in China.

In the Guanyin Pavilion, a 16-meter-tall Guanyin statue stands in the center. It is called the 11-faced Guanyin statue because of the 10 small Buddha heads on its head. The four walls of the Guanyin Pavilion are painted with colorful murals. The two gates on the south wall On the side are the statues of King Ming with four arms and three heads and six arms. There are 16 Arhats painted on both sides of the back door of the north wall and on the east and west walls.

Dule Temple has been a center of religious activities since its establishment. In 1961, Dule Temple was designated as a national key cultural relic protection unit by the State Council. Today, Dule Temple has become a famous tourist attraction in the ancient city of Jixian together with Baita Temple, Luban Temple and Drum Tower.

The square area enclosed by Jianguo Road and four roads in Hebei District is collectively called the Italian Style Area. Currently, there are nearly 200 well-preserved European buildings. Yangliu Qingshi Family Courtyard

Yangliu Qingshi Family Courtyard was built in 1875 and has a history of more than 120 years. It has a unique architectural structure and exquisite brick, wood and stone carvings. The Shi family was one of the eight great families in Tianjin at that time. It was once very wealthy and famous.

The history of the Shi family in Yangliuqing for more than two hundred years reflects the process of the Shi family from settling down, making a fortune, flourishing, declining, and finally falling.

In June 1987, the Xiqing District People's Government listed the "Zunmeitang" residence as a district-level cultural relic (commonly known as the Shijia Courtyard), protected it, and allocated funds for restoration. With the support of relevant units in Tianjin and the joint efforts of engineering and technical personnel, the restoration work was finally completed after six years and an investment of 5.6 million yuan. In 1992, the Shijia Courtyard was opened to the public as the "Yangliuqing Museum" and is a municipal cultural relic protection unit in Tianjin.

On May 25, 2006, the Shijia Courtyard, as an ancient building from the Qing Dynasty, was approved by the State Council to be included in the sixth batch of national key cultural relics protection units.
