Liujiaxia is located in the upper reaches of the Yellow River, southwest of Yongjing County, Linxia, Gansu 1 km, 75 km away from Lanzhou City. There are many canyons and rivers that cross each other. The river passes through a deep canyon with thousands of rock walls. The water potential is like Malik, and the scenery is spectacular, the most famous of which is Liujiaxia. The Yellow River water comes here, turns a 90-degree sharp turn, and then flows west through the canyon.

Liujiaxia Reservoir 1974 completed. It is the seventh cascade hydropower station in the development planning of the upper reaches of the Yellow River, with multiple functions such as power generation, flood control, irrigation, aquaculture, shipping and tourism. The reservoir is located in the plateau canyon, known as the pearl of the plateau, with spectacular scenery.

Features of Liujiaxia:

Visiting Liujiaxia, you can go upstream by boat, the river is clear and the waves splash; After entering the canyon, you can see the confrontation between the peaks and peaks on both sides of the strait, and the scenery is changeable, comparable to Guilin's mountains and rivers and Wuxia in the Yangtze River. Out of the canyon, there is a mountain lake in front of you. The lake is rippling with blue sky and white clouds, with lakes and mountains.

The Yellow River flows into Taohe River before flowing through Liujiaxia to Lanzhou. Large tributaries such as Datong River and Huangshui River. Above Lanzhou, the sediment concentration of the Yellow River is not much, even in flood season, the sediment concentration is around 5%.

Sediment mainly comes from the above tributaries, and little from the main stream. According to the observation records, in the basin areas above Lanzhou, the average annual sediment loss per square kilometer is about 1000 metric tons.
